Department of Mechanical Engineering was started in 2012 with an intake of 60 students. Departmental faculties are highly dedicated, well qualified and competent in teaching, research and building quality Profile of students. The Department presents a unique opportunity to study the exciting field with guidance.
The Department is equipped with laboratories as per University norms for hands-on training. The laboratories are also used for research work to showcase the ability through quality publications jointly with the students & research scholars.
The Department computer center is having the licensed software packages like Solid Edge –V19, Ansys-V18.0, Edge CAM-V18R2, and freeware like Fluid SIM, Fluid Power to provide software skills. The Departmental faculty has applied projects from national funding bodies like KSCST,DST, AR & DB, VGST contributing to significant improvements in the learning environment.
The Department has numerous Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with various industries ranging from Technical Training Establishments to Manufacturing Industries for transfer of knowledge through of applied /advanced technology internship, project work .
The Department has signed MOUs with Industries, Research and Academic Institutes namely Bhavani Industries , Grupo Antolin , Chaithanya Precision Pvt. Ltd., Distinct Productivity Solutions , Madhus Garage, Sona Group of Industries, Sree Mookambika Precision Industries, Kshipra Simulations Pvt LTD, Nikit Engineers, PEE Solar India, Mac Precitec India., Bengaluru to name a few.
Department provides 100% internships to students in industries having MOU & institutes like IISc, KSCST etc. Department is getting funds regularly from KSCST to carryout student projects. Department also encourages students to take up industry & Research oriented projects to make them industry ready.
Department of Mechanical Engineering has been regularly conducting events such as National Conference, Technical Talk by experts from Industry & academia, Industrial Visit, Entrepreneurship Development Program and Training on modeling, soft skill Training.
The Department has constituted a Department Advisory Board (DAB), an elite group comprises members from Academia, Industry and Research organizations. DAB has been set up to take valuable suggestions and views on the activities happening in the department.
The Department has recognized as a Research Center by Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU), Belagavi.
Department encourages faculty and students to attend workshops, conferences and training programs. Department encourages students to participate university level sports activities & inter college events.
The Department has established “B.V.V.S. AIeMS- Toyota Center of Excellence ” with the support of Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt. Ltd., with an objective to impart Technical Skills pertaining to working of an IC Engine, maintenance and troubleshooting etc. and to meet the needs of Automobile Industry in providing skilled trainees.
Department students will be provided awareness and training about placement, higher education & entrepreneurship activities.
Students of the department are placed in Reputed Companies.
To produce Mechanical Engineers to suit diverse sectors of industry namely design, manufacturing, services, research & development, information technology and to promote technology & society symbiosis.
PSO 1:-The Mechanical Engineering graduates will be able to do Modeling, Analysis, Optimization and implementation of same for Industries.
PSO 2:-The Mechanical Engineering graduates will be able to develop effective Manufacturing methods & Process and also suggest optimal methods adopting latest technology.
PEO’S 1:- The Mechanical Engineering graduates will be able to apply their engineering skills, exhibiting critical thinking and problem solving skills in professional engineering practices or tackle social, technical and business challenges.
PEO’S 2:- The Mechanical Engineering graduates will be able to adopt ethical attitude and exhibit effective skills in communication, management, teamwork and leadership qualities.
PEO’S 3:- The Mechanical Engineering graduates will be engaged in ongoing learning and professional development through self study, continuing education in Mechanical Engineering and also in other allied fields.
